This book takes you down into the wonderous world of the fairies. Beautiful and disturbing is the setting and magically amoral its inhabitants.

The story begins with the brutal murder of the protagonists parents and its only a few pages later, where we experience the incredibly complex and confusing relationship Jude has with their murderer. Through her eyes we see him both as a caring father figure and a cruel bloodthirsty general. This confusing complexity is found with most of the characters.

Even Jude herself is written as highly complex and her struggle of fitting in, while realising how horrible the treatment of humans is in the fairy world is during some scenes almost unsettling. Some of her actions quite questionable.

Full of twists and turns, the plot unfolds in a quick pace and makes you want to keep reading far into the night. The oddity of the world is fascinating enough, to follow you into your dreams.
