I absolutely loved this book. I had heard so many things about how good it was before actually sitting down to read it myself. But I kind of went in blind, not knowing exactly what the book was about. It took me totally by surprise, as I didn't expect it to be so easy to follow or read. It's a YA Fantasy, but I did love all the pop culutre references, all the relatable issues in it. Imagine Mean Girls but taking place in Faerie world. The Fairies are the posh, blond mean girls/boys and our heroine, Jude trnasforms from this shy mortal to a kiss ass character that puts fairies in their place. She is witty and strong-willed and she will do most about anything to protect her family. She's loyal to the bone, but also cunning enough to not fall prey to whimsical desires. Holly Black's writing is so fun and easy to follow and I was so eager to read her next book in the series.
