Sometimes, when you pick up a fay book, you wonder if it's going to be a carbon copy of one you've already read in the past. When it's a book which has a hype like this one, you also worry that it's not going to live up to expectations. This book does not fall into either of these categories! It is original, well built and a joy to read.
We have murder, betrayal, romance, feuds, magic and twists I wasn't able to foresee. I loved Jude's character. I loved how she would not be beaten, she would not let herself be diminished by others or allow the fay to belittle her. Her feisty spirit was everything in this book.
I particularly liked how Holly was able to make one character seem likeable to then completely flip it with one of the many twists present in this book.
Well written, amazing story line and characters you can really invest in. All you need for the perfect YA fantasy.
