I personally love fantasy books with fae. It started with throne of glass, leading to a court of thrones and roses and I was so excited to have discovered the cruel prince. Many recommended it to me because of my love for Sarah j mass’ books and there was also a lot of hype surrounding the book on TikTok. I knew I just had to read the book.
However, I found the book and it’s plot very slow paced and I did not understand where everything was leading to. Sure there are some plot twists and an enemies to lovers trope (which I am usually all down for), but no single event stood out to me or made to want to keep reading the book until I finished it.
I also didn’t really enjoy the relationship between Cardan and Jude. Too much hate seems to exist between them and we did not get to see them caring for each other with an unbreakable love bond that usually captures my attention.
