This was a book that I was so excited for and truly wanted to adore it. The second I had a chance to get this, I grabbed it and started it the day it arrived.
Sadly it wasn't to be.
The Cruel Prince started off rather slow and boring. It didn't feel like much was happening but it had promise. But the further in the book I got, the more I disliked it. I was bored by Jude, sick of Cardan and the only characters I truly cared about were side ones like Vivi and Oak.
What I will say about this book is the world building is good and at least the fae were vicious. But the book just...wasn't anything special.
I'm sorely disappointed by this book but I can tell it'll probably still be a popular one.
