I was a little wary of this book to begin with as I had heard very mixed reviews, it was either loved and praised or hated & slated for various reasons.
Personally I really enjoyed this book from start to finish and didn't have many complaints at all. I couldn't see much reason for all the hate.
The story starts with a human family living a normal life, but things are turned on their head instantly when their children's parents are murdered in cold blood and the children themselves are kidnapped and even taken from the world that they know.
This story had many twists and unpredictable turns and surprises. I really enjoyed reading and learning about the various characters, although the characters all seemed a little bland. I would have preferred a bit more knowledge or action from the characters because in all honesty not much happens in this book at all.
An enjoyable read but not incredibly good for such a popular author.
