I was first drawn to this book because I heard it had an enemies to lovers trope and it certainly did. The cruel prince is the first book in the series. The book shows how the main character Jude who is a mortal, is trying to fit in with the faeries. However, this is made difficult for her as there are some faeries who despise her presence, especially Prince Cardan. Therefore, she tries her best to make sure she has a place in amongst the world of faeries. I loved the fantasy world that Holly black created and the morally grey characters in this book. My favourite part of this book was the ending. It was such a good twist that led me to instantly read the next book in the series. I'm really excited to see how the characters will further develop and the relationships between the characters. Although it was not my favourite fantasy book, I did enjoy it.
