First the cover is compelling. The white and gold is eye catching no doubt. I would be drawn to this in a bookstore for sure.
The synopsis screams young adult but that is one of my favorite genres so I would take home and enjoy I know. Also the fantasy is one of my favorites as an adult now.
The writing works and can easily be read without too much drag and heavy topics which is what a first book in a series should be. This could easily be read in one day if someone had the time. So far likable characters and a little tension of romance that really is what I enjoy in my fun fantasy reads. Great first look and something I know I would devour and enjoy doing so in a day or over the weekend. I think it’s a great first in a series.
