I had seen people raving about this book for quite some time before I finally got my hands on a copy, and now having read it i can finally see what everyone has been so excited about! This is a fantastic book, quite unlike anything else I've ever read, and even better it's the first in a series.
This is the story of Jude, who after seeing her parents murdered, is abducted by the assassin and installed in the royal court of the Faerie world. Here she is mocked and excluded for being mortal - and gradually she accepts that she may have to resort to dark measures to better fit in.
I loved how intricate and imaginative this world was, and Black's writing style is totally engaging, great characters etc. Totally recommend for lovers of fantasy.
