I really enjoyed this book, I read it within a few hours I couldn’t put it down.
The characters were complicated and it was quite different to have humans who’d grown up in the cruel but beautiful faerie world and choose to stay despite how cruel it is to them. I really enjoyed how the mythology worked as well.
Jude was badass and I really enjoyed her as a lead, and have her be so human - a bit selfish but with understandable reasons.
The story was quite fast paced and introduced the setting really well and I really enjoyed it throughout. However, I was absolutely blown away by the last few chapters and the political manoeuvring that went with it so it’s left me feeling very positive about the book.
One downside was the romance subplots didn’t quite work as well for me as I’d hoped, despite generally enjoying the book.
It was so good I immediately went to look for the sequels!
