If you like a good fae book, then I think you'll love this.

I didn't know what to expect with this book and went into it blind. Then the 1st chapter hit and I wondered if that was setting the tone for the rest of the book. We're introduced to the main character, 1st as an innocent child, who witnesses the murder of her parents and then as a teenager trying to find her place in a world she feels she doesn't belong, but wishes she would, all whilst being raised by the person who killed her parents. Understandably she has a complicated home life, but is shown to be strong as she also has to deal with classroom bullies, 1 of whom is a prince who likes to push and test her.

The world of Faerie is built up through Jude's experiences and we get to learn the rules and customs.

I loved this book. It surprised me, made me fear for Jude in parts, but also made want more, so I could return to Faerie.
