I’ve seen this around for ages and I finally got round to reading it! I really enjoyed it – it is full of flawed characters, drama and lots of angst. Whilst I did want more world building, I’m hoping that this will come in the later books. I loved the characters – especially Prince Cardan as there is more than meets the eye with him! The differences between Jude and Taryn were also great. Jude is fuelled by revenge and becoming better than those who put her down, whereas Taryn does everything to fade into the background – it was interesting to see these differences pushing them apart. Jude’s decisions can be a bit confusing (does she hate the Faerie world or not?), but I think that represents her changing and growing up. I loved watching her come into her own and finding her strength, and of course the slow-burn enemies to lovers trope! I’m excited to give the next book a try.
