I had heard a lot about this book from TikTok, and thought, ‘why not try it?’ I am glad I did as I found the book enjoyable but just not spectacular. Whilst the main reason I this book drew me in was the promise that the main character, Jude, has an older sister who is gay and as a member of the LGBTQ+ community I am always looking for more representation (especially in fantasy books) I found the book took an overused genre and added little to it. It promised me enemies to lovers arc but found only a love interest who looks the same as many others but with a tail (ew gross!). Saying all this, I am absolutely going to read the other books in the trilogy as I don’t like to keep a story unfinished. In the same breath, I believe that if I had read this book three, or even two, years ago, I would have loved it. Unfortunately, my taste in books has slightly matured.
