I understand why this book gets the hype that it gets. Holly Black's writing is very addicting. This book was very fast paced and I really enjoyed the writing and the world building.
I really enjoyed the politics of the fae Court it was so interesting to read about and how the coup happened I never saw that coming. The Cruelty of the fae is something I love to ready about and who their loyalty lies with.
The last 40 pages or so really hooked me I did not expect the ending to play out how it did.
I really loved Jude as a character I thought she was very well written a strong female character who I loved reading about a girl who wasn't born as a fae but wanted so much to prove herself no matter how cruel they were to her. I liked the differences between jude and her twin, Jude wanted to be a warrior but her twin didn't she wanted to be part of society to be come a wife.
I do recommend this if you're into ya fantasy
