This book is a darker take on a fantasy world where fairies are real. It takes place in Elfhane, where faires and humans live together. However, it seems that the humans are not treated very well by the fairies, and this place is dangerous for humans. So far, this seems like a fascinating story. Holly Black is a great author, so I have no doubt this book will be great. I really liked how whole faires fantasy world. Her potrayal of them is also intriging, how she describes them not very moral, and good. It sets up suspense and pulls you deeper into the book. It seems like a lot of people jules knows/meets are against her, which makes you wonder about all the struggles she's got ahead of her, and whether anything will change. Also, the title is the Cruel prince, and so far, the only prince we've been introduced to is Cardan, who does not seem like a great person. I'm very intrugied on what direction the book is going to go in next, and I can't wait to find out.
