This book had me guessing the whole way through but in a good way. I never knew what would happen next and the ending was a huge twist! I love the way that Jude narrates the story. If you want to read a masterpiece look no further, it’s dark and wicked with an antihero as a main character.as Jude explains her life and why she is the way she is you want to think everything makes sense and that there is no other way but as with all anti hero’s that’s not the case.
Some of the characters do bug me, like her twin sister Taryn, but that’s only because the writing makes the characters feel so alive and like my own sisters. Fighting over little stupid things is so normal for siblings and Holly black captures that in a way that isn’t a cliche.
The book may not be for everyone but it’s intended market is out there and it’s a huge one. If you love young adult, fantasy books this one is for you!
