I read this book after hearing the hype from the book community of social media and I was glad that I did because I may not have come across it otherwise. I love Black's version of the Fae Folk! I really enjoyed how the narrative incorporated the human realm as well as that of the Fae, it offered a sense of realism to the reader that is not always offered in fantasy books. Jude's character was crafted so beautifully, you immediately fall in love with her passion and strong will, her twin on the other hand was annoying and was instantly my least favourite character of the novel. Personally, I struggle with the enemies to lovers trope in novels because I can't understand why you'd fall for someone who treated you so poorly, however there is something about the Jude and Cardan dynamic that shifts the conventional enemies to lovers trope. I am intrigued to see where the narrative will lead in the following books.
