I enjoyed this book more than I expected to considering, when I first picked it up I was struggling to get into it since it was not like the world building in other books I have read. However, I did really enjoy the plot once I understood more about Elfhame where cruel prince is set. although there were points where I was confused about some of the characters in Elfhame due to not being very aware of some of the more magical creatures, but after a bit of research I really enjoyed these characters.
As for the characters I really enjoyed the way that they were developed. Particularly Jude the main character and how she began to learn to stick up for herself throughout the book. I also enjoyed how some of the characters true personalities were revealed throughout which I didn’t see coming and left me not wanting to put the book down. I enjoyed how this book was not predictable as some other books I have read have been.
