I read the extract of this book as the first book I've seen on this website so bear with me I'm still learning the ropes.
The thing that drew me to this book initially was the Robin Hobb-esque cover art. However having read the provided extract the book seems ot hold similar themes to the Graceling series by Kristin Cashore or, given the faerie connection, "throne of Glass" by Sarah J Mass.
I found it interesting to read an extract that could be based similarly on either of these books, both of which I have enjoyed, but whilst the initial premises seem to hold key themes the Author has most definitely put their own tone of voice and style of story-telling to familiar themes, that is apparent in even the short extract I read through.
