It was such a fun read as it took me to another world. If you're reading this because you want a heavy romance i wouldn't suggest it. The characters are very complex and have many parts to them but i really enjoyed the whole journey of getting to know them. Jude is a badass in my opinion and Cardan is too in his own way. This book doesn't follow your stereotypical weak female that needs saving as Jude is a strong character that has been through a lot and is working through her issues. Cardan is not portrayed as the stereotypical male with a love for battle and skill with swords but rather he has a very sharp mind and is able to use it to get himself out of dangerous situations. Both of these characters are very intricate and it was worth reading about them the whole way simply to see how they would deal with all the situations thrown at them on Jude's conquest to power.
