This is a fantasy book that centers around Jude, a mortal girl brought up in a royal court filled with Faerie royalty. The style of writing is a little abrupt since it's filled with a lot of short sentences. It would read better if the sentences were slightly longer. So far, the characters didn't leave an impression on me and I found the father character to be a bit inconsistent. I'm not sure what to expect about the plot. The blurb says that Jude soon realises that she needs "to take part in the dangerous deceptions of the fey to ever truly belong", but I feel that if others were in her situation, that they would try to go back to the normal world. Not only that, but the father did just kill her mother, so I feel like she should want her sisters to be far away from him as possible.
