This book told from Jude's point of view follows her through her mystical life as she struggles with family, power, betrayal, and murder. As I read this book I got transported to their world built around fear, and even though it probably isn't the safest place to live, it made me want to be their, in the book, in their world, helping to rule this land.
The main character is so incredibly strong, fearless, independent, powerful, determined, I could go on forever. My point is she is such an inspiration to young girls everywhere, showing them that you don't need anyone else to tell you who you are, who you can be, or what you can do! I think this is such a strong message that all girls could learn from.
Furthermore, the actual story is incredibly hypnotising as it has the reader constantly on the edge of their seat with them never knowing what could possibly happen next. This is definitely one for the bookshelf, along with its two sequels!
