This is a whirlwind of a story. You are instantly pulled into the characters and their lives. Lives twisted up in each other like the thorns surrounding some of these characters impenetrable internal walls. I thoroughly enjoyed the characterisation of Jude; she is a strong-willed, independent thinking character. She takes risks and is willing to risk it all for her beliefs. She sees her goal and will stop at nothing to get it. I also loved the character of Cardan; he was such a surprise. He is deceptively cruel but I believe this is a front. He has deep rooted desires and feelings that are not obvious from the outset.
This book is completely addictive and very easy to complete within hours.
