The book as a whole was amazing. From the map to the prologue to the plot twists to the end. The whole world was throughly thought out and brilliantly detailed. The characters interesting and I’m excited to see how they develop in the next book. Jude was a good main character with her very complicated relationship with her whole family and her experiences in faerie world. The relationship between Jude and Cardan was complicated but wrote well and the book told it well without moving on too quickly. The pace of the book was well spaced out and an easy book to pick up and enjoy. The books had many plot twists, my favourite being Locke’s relationship with the twins and all the fighting after and even by the end it wasn’t resolved so I am looking forward to see how that continues in the sequel. Overall the book was exciting, intriguing and makes a perfect book to start the trilogy. This book perfectly sets the scene for the second.
