I was very much late into the craze (which is well deserved) that surrounded The Cruel Prince by Holly Black and the following books within the series. However, I am so glad that I decided to follow the crowd and actually give the book a chance as I really enjoyed it.
The narrative is told from the perspective of Jude who is a human that lives within the faerie world. She is forced to live in the faerie world from a young age because of the brutal murder of her parents when she was younger. The story is set many years after Jude first moving this to alternative world and explores the struggles that she experiences as she doesn’t fit in the faerie world due to her mortality. It is during these experiences that we are introduced to Caden who treats Jude badly because of who she is. This sets the scene for a fantasy story full of treachery, death, murder, sister love and many other themes. All of which make this an extremely enjoyable read which I would recommend!
