I actually liked this book and had high hopes for it because it was being hyped on Booktok and it got up to my expectations. I was really into the beginning of the book, because the story got me really fast and I was really excited to get to know cardan more and of course Jude but I was a bit disappointed by the end. It was really boring and slow-paced. And I was a but disappointed by the enemies to lovers trope because I was hoping more. And it got me into a reading slump after, that’s why I couldn’t start the second book for a long time, because I was still so upset. However Cardan stole my heart! Not only the look ( in my head lol) but also the way he thinks about Jude and his family touched me in a way. I was sorry for the way his brother treated him and I wanted to hug him so bad, because he deserved a good hug!!! And even though he’s cruel and unapologetically awful I was interested in his backstory.
