I was pulled in by the cover, it's certainly one of the most unique i've seen in a while. The summary was also intriguing enough to pull you in without giving away too much. I was a bit thrown off by the fact that it goes from third person to first person at the beginning, but thankfully not too much. At first it also seems to focus more on the supporting characters, even the minor ones, more than of the MFC. That being said, I understand this is the first book and certain things have to be done for the sake of world building. Moving on, the story seems to progress rather well, although i won't know for sure until i read on. Interesting plot? Check. Newish and fascinating being/creatures? Check. MFC that isn't a complete damsel in distress that gets walked all over and doesn't even see anything wrong with her surroundings? Also check. Looking forward to seeing how the story develops.
