I have mixed feelings about this book. Anyone who’s on bookstagram will know that is book gets a lot of hype. Everyone loves Jude & Cardan.
Honestly, I didn’t like Jude at all, I thought she was so self centred and arrogant and caused most of her troubles herself. Yes, she has a lot of unresolved trauma regarding her parents but honestly, that doesn’t excuse her attitude.
I loved Vivi and I hope we get to learn more about her in the rest of the series. Taryn however, she’s as bad as Jude, not a fan of her or her betrayal of her twin.
I’m surious about Cardan and how his story will play out. Despite being a main character I feel we haven’t seen a lot of his true personality yet and I’m intrigued by him alot.
Overall I think my dislike of Jude has clouded me feelings about the book as overall but I’ll persevere with the rest of the series and hope my feelings change.
The book or writing wasn’t bad by any means and I love the concept. I can’t wait to see how things play out now the new king is in power
