This story starts off in the mortal world as we know it, this book is paranormal fantasy, not high Fantasy. Jude and her sisters are captured and taken to Faerie, where they grow up amongst the cruel and beautiful fae.
It started off slightly boring, the writing sounded forced and there was an info dump. As we progressed the writing got into the flow, and soon I was completely ensconced in the story.
Jude (the MC) started off quite whingey, but slowly got more certain of herself, especially when standing up to the Prince.
The enemies to lovers trope worked beautifully in this book, and with a love triangle too, the second to last quarters of the book were never dull, and as soon as I thought I had a grip on the plot, a twist would spring up.
Far from being a helpless mortal like she was at the beginning, Jude grew into a devious trickster capable of dealing with the merciless Fae.
