This is a ya fantasy book set in modern times and at first I wasn't so sure on it but this book really grew on me. I loved the dynamics between Cardan and Jude and also how the love interest was different from those common in fantasy books. This made the book really interesting and so I finished this book very quickly. I have read the whole series now and it only gets better! I am also excited to read the new book focused on Cardan that is coming out at the start of 2021.
I didnt rate this five stars as I felt it was a bit slow to start and at a few points in the book. I prefer fantasy books set in the past but I really enjoyed this.
I would recommend this to anyone that enjoys fantasy, the enemies to lovers trope, and is between the ages of 12 to 18.
There was not too much romance in this book and only one "spicy" scene really, which I didnt thinks was bad at all.
