If I’m completely honest, I can’t quite decide if I liked this book or not. I love the characterisation and how believable the world of faerie felt. Fantasy isn’t a genre I often read but I thought that it was interesting and not too tricky to keep up with all the characters and places, which I often struggle with! My main issue with this book is the narration - Jude’s dialogue is very introspective but for me felt almost melodramatic. I couldn’t quite take seriously the issues she faced because she just kept going on about them! However the plot was good and around the middle of the book it came into its own - I couldn’t stop turning the pages! I think this would be a great book for a younger audience but I won’t be hunting down the sequel.
