I had real trouble with this book. The opening was brilliant - it was fast paced and I was intrigued to learn more about the characters.
However, from there it went rapidly downhill! I found all of the characters imminently dislikable,with no sign of any kind of redemption. The plot was slow and I felt like nothing was actually happening - it just became a decent into several scenes of unnecessary bullying with no real direction.
It was a real struggle to get through the book, and I seriously considered giving up a few times. I persevered, but I regret it, since the ending left me bored and uninterested in the sequel.
The cover is gorgeous though - I'm so disappointed that I didn't enjoy the story!
