The cruel prince is definitely worth reading. The book is as magical and whimsical as it could get. Filled with enchantments, schemes, politics, potions, torture and massacres, plot twists, and conniving characters. It is well paced and keeps you turning the pages, that once you start, you don't want to stop. There was overall very little romance in this book, I can honestly say my rating would've been higher if there was more. Although it did feel like all the things that happened between these two was like… a promise of good things to come. I also deeply loved the world of faerie here. The Cruel Prince isn't very spicy compared to other fantasy novels. There is some kissing, but that's mainly it for any “spice.”
It is easy to read and has a good plot so definitely when you struggle to keep up with a book, is the cruel prince an easy starter to get the reading going. This book has a badass female lead who knows her way around a sword. This skill comes handy from time to time.
