I first heard of this book when I was scrolling through Booktube and I found a rant review on The Cruel Prince. I watched 4 minutes of it and the video ended up making me buy it instead of avoiding it. You have no idea how glad I am that I ignored that rant, because that was potentially the best decision of my life. This book was the first book I read that was fantasy-kingdom based and I honestly loved every second. Powerful female characters like Jude are the reason why I continue breathing, from the way she can slice a man in half to her attitude all round. The world building was amazing, sort of creating this dark atmosphere the minute you begin reading. Throughout the entire book, there wasn’t a moment where I wasn’t hooked -the story was paced really well so the plot didn’t move along too slowly or too quickly. I found that the story was also really easy to follow, something that can be hard to find when it comes to really good fantasy books. All in all, I encourage anyone to read The Cruel Prince if they like the murderous kind of enemies to lovers trope;)
