With this being a Holly Black book, I had high expectations. Holly always writes amazing books about The Folk and this was no exception! This book was devoured in no time.
Even though it had the odd bit that felt like I could have been reading any of the books I’ve read recently it did not disappoint at all. I love when I can dive into a book and forget about reality for a little while, and this book just draws you straight in.It was such an easy read and did not feel very long at all.
The plot was good and the twist was great. The characters were well flesh-out. I wanted to cheer Vivi and Jude on, loved to hate Cardan, Locke and their little friendship group. The only character that I wasn’t keen on was Taryn. She seemed a little selfish.
I’m so pleased I got to read this early and cannot wait for the sequel!
