This book is full of suspense, secret love stories and strong main characters, truly everything what you need for a good book. This book revolves around teenager girl from a mortal world, who was abducted with her sisters, when they were only small kids. She and her twin attend a school in Faerieland, where only nobility is allow to go. There she meets cruel and wicked prince, Cardan, who is the youngest of King Eldred´s children. You cannot miss the tension between main female and male characters. Holly Black also didn´t forget to surprise us with the events following main conflict. The novel has a fast-moving and riveting plot, but what appealed to me most was the way that the protagonists´ complex personalities are revealed over the course of the story. The Cruel Prince is a perceptive portrayal of a fascinating time in "unknown world" and the gripping and moving story is told in expressive and intricate detail. It is a must-read.
