This book captured me so much more than I ever expected it to and I can't wait to read the next in the series. It had ended up on my tbr list somehow years ago and after recently joining Instagram I saw many people rating it as an all time favourite. I decided now was a good time to give it a read and I am so glad I did.
The characters are vivid and the story swept me away. I'll admit some of the politics of the land were a little confusing at times but overall it didn't matter. I would usually avoid a 5 star rating for this type of thing but I was so blown away with everything else that I'm sticking with 5.
What can I say? Somehow this books hits a faerie fantasy sweet spot that I didn't know I had! It gave me a wonderful sense of magical adventure and a beginner dose of moody fae.
It's not perfect and it won't be too everyone's liking but it is definitely worth checking out as it just might excite you as much as it did me.
