This book is extremely good and Holly Black is clearly talented. The author finds good ways to keep the narrative intiguing and exciting. The characters are likeable and there are many surprises and cliffhangers throughout the book. It keeps you wanting more!!! The beginning is quite confusing however as you read on you start to understand the plot and the characters a bit more. There's the perfect balance of betrayal, cruelty and romance as well as a lot of magic. If you like an enemies to lovers plot line than you'll love this book! It did take me a while to get into it but once you do you can't put it down. I highly recommend that you read this if you're looking for a good book to get you out of a reading slump. This book kind of reminds me of a binge-worthy tv show. I felt a series of different emotions while reading this and ended up getting super attached to the characters.
