A hand is deposited on the shingle bank of the Thames, whos murdered and cut up that body? A female junior detective steps up to managing her own case, with some friction as well as comeradry amongst colleagues.

Good characterisation in this read, I especially liked the lady who found the hand, she was quirky and vibrant with a dislike of social spaces. The female detective protagonist is OK, displaying traditional weaknesses often assigned to females, but good to see that she has a mind of her own. She also has an arch rival in the world of crime investigation, an ambitious type, probably a fast tracked uni graduate.

The males in are a little too dominant in this extract, but Im sure that will change.

Good research, the description of the type of saw like used to cut up the body, the bone marks, the way they had fractured; made the story believable.

This offers up and interesting start, I could read this book happily enough.
