Having only discovered the Maeve Kerrigan series with Cruel Acts I was unsure if this book would match up to that one. So far, things seem to be very much in the same mould and more or less centred around the cases Kerrigan is involved in with just the odd little off shoot in to her personal life. The only thing that really spoils things for me is Kerrigan's propensity to put herself in danger. In Cruel Acts it was a rooftop showdown and I dread to think where she will put herself this time.

Strong start but the author is a master of the genre so I did expect to be sucked in from the off.
