DS Maeve Kerrigan has found herself drawn into the elite world of a posh club for men where anything goes it seems. They're involved in some particularly shady stuff including a missing journalist. This case is also going to force Maeve to face up to a secret shes been keeping and trouble in her own life too.
Well what a ride this was. For a simple premise theres a lot going on in the story. I figured out some parts but others took me by surprise. This is part of a series but it's easy enough to follow without having read all the others. I have read a couple before though. The writing is well done and descriptive where it needs to be. Maeve is a strong lead but not without her own faults. The side story of her own life adds further depth and made me like her even more. I also love the relationships she has with her colleagues especially Josh. A brilliant crime thriller with a great ending.
