I don't normally jump in and read books out of series, but when I got a first look at this book I was drawn in and was so glad I got a copy. This is the ninth book in Jane Casey's Maeve Kerrigan series but, as I've just found out, it can also work as a stand alone novel (that said I'm now planning on going back to the start and read the first eight!). I thoroughly enjoyed this book, crime thriller is my favourite genre and this book delivered. It's pacy, weaving different plot lines together with finesse, drawing you in to the characters lives, all while investigating a murder.
