The dynamic of the relationship between the narrator Maeve and Derwent the detective was interesting and undefined. From the first sentence i was hooked. There were so many questions. Who's body was it? Why would someone be so meticulous as they were on the dissection of the body? Who could have the motive to do it? The first of these question was answered but from the first look the rest remain unanswered.
One of the most mysterious parts of the book was the two years earlier section where an unknown character wakes up confused. This was one of the most hooking parts of the extract for there was no way to know who it was. As well as the question of his identity there was also the question of what he had done. The side mystery of the cot death was also something I wanted to know about and I would definitely like to read the rest of the book
