This was the first book I read in the Maeve Kerrigan series by Jane Casey and its safe to say that it did not disappoint.
In book number 9 of the series, DS Maeve Kerrigan and DI Josh Derwent are investigating the disappearance and then the murder of a young journalist. Body parts have washed up off of the River Thames and it is the detectives job to work out if they are connected to the missing girls case.
This book is written so well, very gripping and totally captivating. This is a great instalment in the series and has been set up perfectly for the relationship between Kerrigan and Derwent to just pick up where they left off in the next book. There is great character development for the really likeable characters which makes you want to continue reading. The book could easily be a stand alone and be just as enjoyable as if you had read the entire series.
