My first impression is of a good murder mystery story. A girl, or rather pieces of a girl found by a mudlarker on the banks of the river Thames makes for an interesting read. We also have the detectives on the case who have a close relationship of mutual respect and lighthearted banter.

The story then goes back a few years to a man waking up in a drunken stuper, not knowing quite what happened the night before but realising that he may have done something bad.

This seems like an easy to read murder mystery written by a person familiar with police procedures. I'm interested to see how the relationship between the two police investigators develope and how the things from the past unravel in the present.

Intriguing read.
