I’ve followed the Kerrigan stories from the beginning & love them. There’s enough police procedure to be interesting but not overdone, suspense & also the tension between her & her fellow detective Josh that keeps you thinking ‘will they, won’t they?’. There’s enough information to give you a vague idea of who might have murdered someone, however the details are slightly vague so you’re not 100% certain which I enjoy. The suspense is palpable as the detectives work the case, enough personal details are disclosed to endear you to the characters so that you do care if something happens. Designed to draw you in, this world that Jane Casey has conjured up is a down to earth, with a real life sense that you can believe these murders could happen & she brings you back for more at the end of each book!
