I found this book quite intense, but I really enjoyed it. The plot line was very interesting and exciting. At the same time it was dark and disturbing. I read it in double quick time, because I found it difficult to put down. The story was written from DS Kerrigans point of view. Her character was very likable and open, but somehow vulnerable. She was a good role model for women. Very strong and not afraid of stepping out side her comfort zone. Following her story was painful in parts though. I loved her relationship with her colleague Derwent, one that was difficult to define. Somehow they seemed to need each others support and acceptance. I would love to see it develop into something more personal and permanent. Definitely a book worth investing in.
