When someone reports body parts found in the Thames Maeve Kerrigan and Josh Derwent swing into action.
The remains are that of Paige Hargreaves, an investigative journalist who was working on a story about the Chiron club, a very elite gentlemen's club.
Rumours of shady goings on were rife and it's very hard to penetrate into that rarefied atmosphere of wealth and influence.
But Maeve is determined to go undercover and infiltrate the heart of this den of debauchery and scandal.
But meanwhile events even closer to home are about to knock Maeve for a curveball when she is also put in danger.
This was an amazing detective story that grips the reader from the first page, so many side stories going on and so many suspects, like a modern day whodunnit but it seemed to flow effortlessly and the ending was neatly tied up to my satisfaction.
The kind of novel I couldn't put down and if forced to it bothered me as I kept thinking of the plot!
A brilliant read and as I have never read the author before I am now aware that this is part of a series of novels with Maeve and Josh and I am looking forward to exploring more of her work.
The characters were engaging, bounced well off each other and at times the banter between them made me laugh out loud, (rightly or wrongly) considering the subject matter.
Definitely one to watch in the sphere of crime writing.
