This book is book number of the Maeve Kerrigan series. This the second book from the series that I have read, having previously read book number 8 and I am only sorry to have not found this series sooner.
To put it simply, I will just need to go and buy them all now. I was kept guessing right to the end of this book, and really enjoyed the storyline. I love Maeve as a character, and love her friendship with her colleague Josh Derwent. My heart was in my mouth during some scenes of this book.

The cutting place was a book that I really enjoyed reading although it is part of a series it read well as a stand alone book. I really enjoyed this book so much so that I am desperate to get the rest of the series so I can read them all in order and learn more about Maeve Kerrigan and about her back story. During the story there were alot of twists and turns which I did not expect each time as the story unfolded which is something that I loved about the cutting place.

Another thing that I really like was the cover of the book. Although I didn't intend too order the book originally I am really glad I did as when I saw the cover I immediately thought it was the type of book I would usually pick up if I was in a shop. All in all I will definitely be reading more of Jane Caseys work.
