The main protagonist Maeve Kerrigan is a strong character who is easy to like and someone you could relate to. The plot twists and turns and keeps the reader interested and engaged, trying to navigate all the information to guess at who the murderer will be. Plus there is the added intrigue of DI Kerrigan's personal life to keep the story moving along at pace.
The sinister members of the men only club and the investigative skills of the detectives provide a balanced contrast.
The characters and plot of the story could easily be translated to a tv detective series and look forward to seeing this at some stage in the future. With the author's husband being a barrister this helps makes the storyline as precise and realistic as possible.
